Shàng zhōumò, wǒ de péngyou lái wǒ jiā zuòkè.

Last weekend, my friend came to visit my home.

Wǒ tíqián dǎsǎo fángjiān, yě zhǔnbèi le yìxiē shíwù hé yǐnliào.

I cleaned the room in advance and prepared some food and drinks.

Péngyou dào de shíhou, wǒ gǎndào fēicháng gāoxìng.

When my friend arrived, I felt very happy.

Tā dài lái le yí gè xiǎo lǐwù, shuō shì dì yī cì lái wǒ jiā.

He brought a small gift and said it was his first time visiting my home.

Wǒ huānyíng tā jìnlái, qǐng tā zuò xià, ránhòu wǒmen kāishǐ liáotiān.

I welcomed him in, asked him to sit down, and then we started chatting.

Wǒ de jiā bù dà, dànshì hěn gānjìng, yě hěn ānjìng.

My home is not big, but it is clean and quiet.

Péngyou shuō huánjìng hěn shūfu, ràng tā juéde hěn fàngsōng.

My friend said the environment was comfortable and made him feel relaxed.

We first chatted in the living room about our recent studies and work.

He told me he had been very busy lately but was satisfied with his current life.

I also shared my plans and ideas with him.

Later, I showed him my room and let him see my books, photos, and computer.

He was interested in my study environment and asked many questions.

Zhōngwǔ de shíhou, wǒ hé péngyou yìqǐ chī fàn.

At noon, we ate together.

Wǒ zuò le yìxiē jiǎndān de cài, suīrán bù duō, dànshì wèidào bú cuò.

I cooked some simple dishes.

Péngyou shuō hěn hǎochī, ràng wǒ hěn kāixīn.

Although there were not many, they tasted good.

Chī wán fàn yǐhòu, wǒmen yìqǐ xiūxi le yíhuìr, ránhòu qù fùjìn de gōngyuán zǒu zǒu.

My friend said the food was delicious, which made me happy.

After the meal, we rested for a while and then went for a walk in a nearby park.

The park had many trees and flowers, and the air was fresh.

In the afternoon, we returned home, continued chatting, and listened to music together.

Time passed quickly.

When my friend was about to leave, we both felt a little reluctant.
